5-Day Safari Itinerary
From Arusha / Kilimanjaro To Arusha / Kilimanjaro
Day 1 Tarangire National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Tarangire National Park via the Namanga border. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. With your safari vehicle’s open roof, you’ll explore the diverse landscape of swamps, savannah, and the Tarangire River in search of zebras, buffaloes, hartebeests, elephants, giraffes, waterbucks, and reedbucks. If you’re lucky, you may spot lions hunting or leopards lounging in the trees. After an extensive game drive and a day immersed in Tarangire’s wildlife, you’ll travel to your lodge or camping for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2 Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you’ll drive through the scenic highlands where crops like wheat, maize, and coffee thrive. Passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you’ll have the option to stop and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Ngorongoro Crater before continuing to Serengeti National Park. The name Serengeti means “endless plains” in the Maasai language and perfectly describes the vast grasslands that stretch before you. With your vehicle’s open roof, watch for lions, wildebeests, zebras, and buffaloes among unique rock formations. Arrive in the Seronera Valley for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge or campsite.
Day 3 Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you’ll spend a full day exploring Serengeti National Park one of the world’s most renowned wildlife reserves. The boundless grasslands offer spectacular game viewing. Depending on the season, you may witness the incredible Great Migration, as millions of wildebeests and zebras move in search of fresh grazing. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, and elephants are also frequently sighted. Enjoy another overnight stay at your lodge or campsite.
Day 4 Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast and with picnic lunch packed, you’ll depart Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Descend into the crater to explore its lush ecosystem, home to a remarkable variety of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino, buffaloes, lions, flamingos, and more. The crater’s vast grasslands and watering holes provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing in a unique and accessible setting. In the evening, you’ll head to your lodge or comping for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5 Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you’ll descend once more into the Ngorongoro Crater for additional game viewing. Capture unforgettable photographs and enjoy the thrill of spotting some of Africa’s most iconic species. Around midday, relax with a picnic lunch by the crater’s famous hippo pool. In the afternoon, you’ll begin your journey back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport, or be dropped off at your hotel.
