Zanzibar Butterfly Centre (ZBC) is tourist attraction for Zanzibar and works in- association with Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, Jozani Environmental Conservation Association (JECA) and Pete Development Association.

Visit the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre (ZBC) in the heart of the island, near the Jozani Forest, to learn about Zanzibar's endemic butterfly species. The dynamic and visually stimulating setting provides a delightful experience for both adults and children. You can participate in the feeding process and, if you like, let the butterflies flutter close to your palm. The Centre concentrates on three areas: educational visits, conservation, and butterfly farming

The butterfly farming is done in collaboration with approximately 40 farmers from the nearby community of Pete. Farmers can diversify their income through farming, which is especially beneficial for women because it allows them to conveniently integrate activities around household and childcare responsibilities.

JOZANI FOREST MONKEYS

Jozani Forest, also known as Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, is the only national park on Zanzibar Island in Tanzania. It is very small (only 50 square kilometres) but a beautiful and tranquil place to visit. It is one of the most popular tour here in Zanzibar. This park is home to many faunal species but most well known for the red colobus monkey which is only available in Zanzibar and you can't find somewhere else in the world

You will also be visiting the floating mangrove bridge and taking a walk through the impressive flora and fauna, with a visit to the mangrove swamp and a walk around the mangrove forest which is one of the highlights of Zanzibar.
